Who we are

Daryl and Michelle Grimes have been serving in full-time ministry for nearly 30 years. From pastoring local churches to planting a congregation from the ground up, they’ve walked the road many ministry families travel—filled with both incredible joys and heartbreaking valleys.

Their story includes deep personal loss. Daryl and Michelle lost their daughter, Charity Hope, and Daryl's brother, Jimmy Ray, to addiction-related struggles. These painful experiences became the spark for Ray of Hope Ministry Relief—a ministry rooted in compassion, healing, and the desire to care for those who quietly carry burdens while serving others.

They are also deeply blessed with a wonderful family. They have two sons and daughters-in-law (Luke & Sydney and Isaiah & Baylea), and two precious grandchildren (Maverick & another on the way) who bring joy and hope into their lives.

He and Michelle are passionate about encouraging pastors, church planters, missionaries, and their families. Whether it's through personal pastoral care, pulpit supply, retreats, or simply being present, their heart is to remind those in ministry that they are not alone—and that rest, recovery, and renewed hope are possible.

They currently serve in North Carolina, where Daryl continues to pastor a local church while building Ray of Hope Ministry Relief during his free time. Michelle serves faithfully alongside him in both family and ministry life.
